During my congratulatory call, he made clear that even though he turned 5 today, he wasn't going to kindergarten, yet and he would be having cupcakes with toy dinosaurs at school. When asked about presents, he told me he would be opening his presents at home and not at school because it wouldn't be appropriate to open them there. But that thirst for knowledge is a truly amazing thing. Most kids don't have it, I'm finding. He's awesome, that's all there is too it. I agree with conventional wisdom, and think that allowing the questions to guide things is the best answer. They'll let you know when they are ready, and telling the truth is always the best choice. I can understand that it might be hard to not have all the magic, but wow, how amazing to have a little boy with his eyes and mind wide open. How proud you must be. :) Although I do not have children, I am much older than my siblings.
